Applying the Science of Analytics to the Art of Compensation & Incentive Plans

WACABA (Washington Area Compensation and Benefits Association) is hosting a half-day workshop on Thursday, June 21st for an eye-opening adventure into the Science of Analytics and its application to Compensation & Incentive Plans.

Dan Anderson of Adaptalytics will introduce and explain the entire lifecycle of compensation analytics and describe (in detail) each key component required for success – from the foundational building blocks to developing and maturingyour firm’s analytical capabilities beyond standard reporting and into predictive analytics.

You’ll learn new and unique approaches to analyzing your workforce, visualization techniques, finding internal inequities, using trends and predictors to improve the value of external benchmarks, as well as more advanced statistical and big data approaches such as attribute creation, grouping, segmentation and anomaly detection.

In addition, Dan will expose you to the subjectivity and human element of analytics, so you know what to watch out for, how to avoid various biases, and how best to leverage your team’s creativity while staying true to yourgoal of objectivity.

About the Presenter

Dan Anderson is a Washington DC-based analytics professional. He is passionate about turning technical data into simple, plain language that enables business leaders to make rapid and informed decisions. His “Data Geek”skills have driven his career through various functional areas – from a Financial Controller of $300M to the Director of HR Analytics. In 2015, after 15 years in corporate America, Dan launched his own analytics firm“Adaptalytics” (a blend of the words “adaptation” and “analytics”). As a private consultant, Dan applies his experience, technical skills, and thirst for problem solving to support clients in using their data to achieve business goals. His projects center on creating operational efficiency, from data modeling and Dashboard development to building automated analytical tools that streamline day-to-day operations. His niche ability to“simplify the complex” combined with his never-ending sense of humor results in a fun, light-hearted presentation that will not only keep you engaged and laughing, but will arm you with new skills and ideas to immediately apply to your everyday job. Dan is also actively involved in SHRM, and currently serves as the Data Analytics Specialist on the NOVA SHRM Board.
